Advisor/Support Worker

The Disability Resource Centre is looking for an experienced individual able to support people across the Bedfordshire and South East Midlands area, empowering people of all ages affected by disability or health conditions to fulfil their potential and aspirations.

We have an exciting new role supporting workless adults on Building Better Opportunities “Support into Work” and “Financial Inclusion” Projects, funded by the European Union European Social Fund and the Big Lottery Fund.

You will be required to support a caseload of participants starting with information, advice and guidance, initial assessment and formulating an individual plan for learning. All participants will be inducted on the courses and supported throughout their programme through to their next steps on completion. Each plan will incorporate personal development, financial awareness and employment support delivered in ways most likely to benefit the participant. This will include a variety of one to one coaching and group work. You will support participants to move into work and further learning through delivering workshops, facilitating job search and one to one support.

Ideally you will be qualified to Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance with experience in supporting learners to achieve their learning goals and progress into employment through group and one to one support. People with other relevant experience and willing to work towards the qualification are welcome to apply. Travel will be required throughout the SEMLEP area.
This position is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Salary: £ 23,698 pro rota
Hours: 25-30 hours per week
Duration: Fixed term contract until 30th November 2018

HOURLY PAID TUTORS

The Disability Resource Centre wishes to recruit experienced hourly paid tutors in a range of subjects that support our exciting new projects.

You will be required to deliver innovative and engaging workshops to support the learners in developing their skills, taking into the consideration the specific needs of participants.

Tutors are required for the above projects are:

Employability – Work preparation
Financial self – management
Personal and Social Development
Health and Social Care
Digital Inclusion
Food Safety
Disability Awareness
Health and Wellbeing
Arts and Craft
Pain Management
Weight Management
Holistic Treatments
Healthy Eating

You should have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, be occupationally competent and hold a teaching qualification. You need to be experienced in supporting learners to achieve their individual learning outcomes within a similar setting.
