The Care Act 2015

We can provide training on the impact of The Care Act 2015 for individuals and employers. Please phone 01582 470900.

Whether you are an employer or a personal assistant, you can access a range of relevant and engaging workshops delivered by specialist trainers.
Together, we will develop a personalised plan of training, using our flexible learning package that includes online learning, or attending stand-alone workshops.

Health and Social Care Qualifications


Qualifications in Health and Social Care: City and Guilds Level 1 & Level 2

The Disability Resource Centre and Luton Adult Learning are working in partnership to offer short accredited courses in Health and Social Care.

Over a few short workshops you will be able to learn new skills and gain a recognised qualification. Whether you would like to find out what it would be like to work as a care worker, would like to find out more or develop your skills further, these courses can help.

These courses are free if you are unemployed, economically inactive or in receipt of certain benefits. A bursary fund is available to support learners on a low income.

Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

This course is ideal for those people who are undecided as to whether they wish to work in the Health and Social Care sector.

During this course we will consider the different roles available in the sector, and the skills and attributes required, as well as explore different methods of communication and record keeping.

This course will give future employers an indication of your commitment and level of ability within Adult Social Care.

Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

This course is aimed at people who already possess a clear understanding of Health and Social Care but are interested in learning more and gaining a recognised qualification.

Topics on this course include the role of the health and social care worker, safeguarding, health and safety, communication, duty of care, person-centred values and principles that are vital components for any person working in the sector.

The level 2 certificate is in line with the new Care Certificate requirements.
