On Friday 18th of August, we were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Mr Vinod Tailor, to the Disability Resource Centre.
Friday was quite a busy day, in addition to our regular PA recruitment morning, BIG health and fitness exercise class and lottery funded employability training class, the team in the Equipment Display area were busy with carers and service users browsing the new and second hand aids and adaptations.
Vinod is an inspirational person who came to the UK at a very young age from Uganda and worked his way up to the prestigious position of High Sheriff of Bedfordshire.
Vinod was very interested in the services that we deliver and spent a good while talking to users, staff and volunteers and was also very generous with ideas for fundraising and support for the charity.
The DRC has some exciting new ventures in addition to the work that we currently do in supporting disabled people in Luton and Bedfordshire.
